I would like to suggest that you down load a backup copy off your DB and a copy of your settings.php, (this contains all your DB log-in setting and info.) if by chance you need to start all over again, but, if you follow the instructions carefully before you press next then you should not have troubles. I always down load the complete site first, but that's just me.

Yeah, I always do that as well but sometimes that is difficult if the site is really, really big.
