Ok, tweaking question... I want to remove the "News" and "Search" at the top of the frontpage.  I know I can turn off the news via the config, but when I do it also turns if off in the top middle block... (unless I am doing something else wrong.. not out of the question)   

My other option is to modify the index.template.php and comment out those lines? ?

I went ahead and commented out that code so they would not display, but if there is a better way, I would like to know...

if you commented those out that's what I would have done , or remove the code entirely..
