Having a login problem with CoalBlack in SMF 2.0 RC5.  The login in the header returns "Unable to login ..." error, and the login page returns same error unless "Always stay logged in" is checked.  Default theme works fine, which seems odd, since they both use the same Register.template.php and Register.php.

Any ideas?

Did you try to clear your cache and also may want to re-install, no complaints that I know of...please let us know!

Sorry about my op - was working on two different problems and muddled it up.  Registration is working ok, but still have the login problem, only in CoalBlack.  It was a clean 1.1.13 installation that I upgraded to RC5.  No mods, nothing in the database.  Default theme login is normal.  Just tried again in CoalBlack, can only log in on login page with "Always stay logged in" checked, otherwise login fails.  Clearing cookies has no effect.  Problem is in IE8 - works fine in FF3.5.  I have cookies blocked, but my own domains are whitelisted, and changing cookie setting doesn't help, nor does switching off InPrivate Filtering.  Problem is specific to CoalBlack in IE8.

Beats me.  Tried another theme from a different source, and had the same problem.  The default theme works fine.  They're using the same login scripts, so they should all work the same.  I'll inquire on SMF support board.  Will let you know what caused it if I get it resolved.

No help from SMF support, but did find a way to fix the problem.  If I go to Server Settings and check both 'Enable local storage of cookies' and 'Use subdomain independent cookies', all logins work normally.  I'm not using subdomains.

The login problem happens only in third party themes, and apparently only to me when I use IE8.
