Changing a theme's character set?

I saw Crip gave someone a new index.template that changed their character set for a theme, and I'm having problems with the link tree characters not showing up, so how can I change it?

If you are talking about that problem with the strange character in the linktree, try doing a search for "linktree".  There are several topics posted about that, though not about the theme that you are using.  Maxx, or Will, maybe one of you can help him solve that problem or I'll take a look at it later.
