Help with Reference Theme

Hi I am very new.
First of all, thank you so much for the Reference theme.
It is my favorite by far!

I really need help placing a custom header, centered at the very top.
Also, I want to place ad banners at the top.
I have tried ad manager, but doesnt work.

Does anyone have any advice for a noob like me?

SMF 2.0 with simpleportal installed. any help would be much appreciated

OK,

On the themes I never suggest changing the theme code to fit ads, Ads can be  placed in so many different ways, Using SimplePortal like your are you may place ads in the top panels and have them come up in what every category you wish, if you want the to place an ad script you may do this by using the global headers and footers Mod from the SMF Site, this way you can place the ads easily on the top and bottom of your forum pages. I would not mess up the Theme's index.template.php to do this.

To ad an or change the LOGO you can upload one and overwrite to one that's there now, and I would let in on one side or the other, but if you want it in the center this will take some custom work!

You also have an issue with the SimplePortal, you need to copy and paste the portal.css  form the SimplePortal package, to your theme CSS folder.. that's causing the title and cat bar overflow issue!

I've been super busy so I didnt get a chance to thank you.
I am really new at this, but slowly getting a hang of it. Been working 13 hour days so I havent had much time until today.
